- Students receive a professional art degree and teacher licensure upon graduation. Licensure is transferable to other states and unlike other art education programs, UD students start working with young people right away.
- Art education students pursue a capstone research project tied to arts-based research in their senior year thus aligning the various roles they will engage in as professionals. These research investigations are shared at the Stander Symposium. Many of the students have co-published and/or co-presented their research findings with the faculty.
