The bioengineering program at UNH is a truly interdisciplinary program where students receive training from both the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) and the College of Life Science and Agriculture (COLSA). Students will take classes in biology, microbiology, genetics, physiology and biochemistry from COLSA. They will take classes in chemistry, physics, mathematics (including differential equations and statistics) and engineering from CEPS. The Bioengineering faculty in CEPS have a broad background of training ranging from modeling physiological and biochemical processes, enzyme kinetics, to synthetic biology, biomaterials and biosensor development. Graduates from the bioengineering program will be conversant in solving problems at the interface of biology and engineering that may arise in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, as well as medicine and biofuels. By graduation, students will have experience measuring and interpreting data from living systems and addressing the interactions between living and non-living materials.
