Film studies at Ohio State provides students with the means to understand and make critical judgments about film, the preeminent art form of the twentieth century, and the imagemedia experiences that inform their lives. Film studies scholars from many departments across the College of Arts and Sciences work together to construct an interdisciplinary exploration of the artistic and socio-historical traditions of this medium.

Acamedic Requirements:
- High school or secondary school official transcripts of the final four years (9 to 12) should be sent to Ohio State
- SAT or ACT scores should be submitted (Optional for 2023 admissions)
- Recommendation from a teacher or counsellor (optional)
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL (IBT): minimum 79 required
- IELTS or IELTS indicator: minimum 6.5 required
- ACT: minimum 21 score on the English section
- SAT: minimum 27 required on the reading section
- Duolingo: minimum 105 required
