- Biomedical engineers are employed by pharmaceutical industries, government agencies, biomedical product companies, universities, medical center labs, and emerging high-tech industries.
- Due to their multidisciplinary backgrounds, biomedical engineers have diverse research interests, often acting as liaisons between technological and clinical communities.
- Biomedical Engineering offers degrees of Master of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy with more than 80 faculty mentors to choose from within colleges such as:
- Dentistry
- Engineering
- Medicine
- Veterinary medicine.
- Students also may pursue an MD/PhD degree administered jointly through the College of Medicine and the Graduate School. The combined BS/MS program is an option for high-achieving Ohio State undergraduates.

Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, from a recognized university.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale or equivalent) for the last bachelor's or advanced degree earned.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Completed a master’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
