Master of Education [M.Ed] [Learning, Teaching and Curriculum (Early Childhood Education)] From University of Missouri

In the early childhood education emphasis, students will gain increased knowledge and skills in the design, delivery and evaluation of educational services to children from birth through age 8. The program addresses the essential problems of practice with special emphasis given to effective teaching approaches for children who are at risk for school failure: children with special needs, children who are English-language learners and children who have challenging behaviors. Students may pursue initial certification with this degree.Those students seeking certification have to meet all Early Childhood Education requirements (at least two years of coursework in Phase II) and then take additional courses for an M.Ed.??The program is designed for early childhood practitioners, Head Start teachers, early childhood special education teachers, child-care center staff and others who work with children from birth through age 8.
