Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an equivalent bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- A background in biology and an interest in Immunology or biomedical research, as well as to individuals who already possess a medical degree, such as an MD or an MBBS, or to individuals who have a degree in a health professions-related field is required.
- GPA of 3.0/4.0 (B+ Grade) is required.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- The minimum requirements are an overall average of 60% in each year, as well as in all prerequisite subjects.
- Subjects must include mathematics, chemistry, and physics in Class 11 and 12.
- GPA of 3.0/4.0 [B Grade].
English Language proficiency:
- Applicants from India, China, Vietnam, Philippines, and Pakistan should note that IELTS is the only proficiency score accepted by the Study Direct Stream (SDS) program.
- Meeting the minimum English requirements does not guarantee admission. Students with higher English proficiency scores will receive priority in the admission assessment process.
- Not all students will qualify for EAP-3106 in place of the required IELTS or TOEFL test scores.
Submission of GRE scores is compulsory for this program, however, it is recommended to submit a minimum 292 score for a better chance of admission.

- Personal Statement: Your statement should be no more than three pages in length describing your interest in the program and your qualifications.
- Curriculum Vitae
- Three letters of recommendation: Follow the instructions in the online application form to notify your referees. Your referees will upload their letters directly.
- Transcript(s): Students will be asked to upload your (unofficial) transcripts while completing the online application.
- GRE or MCAT score: To send your official GRE scores directly to the program, use code 3812. MCAT scores can be submitted via email to mmsc_imm@hms.harvard.edu as a Printable Score Report, which includes a verification code to verify the report’s authenticity.
- TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test: Applicants must score a minimum of 100 (TOEFL), 7.5 (IELTS), or 125 and satisfactory programmatic review of the writing and video samples (Duolingo English Test) to be considered for the program. To submit TOEFL scores, use code 3151
- Application Fee: All applicants to HMS Master’s Programs are required to pay a $100 application fee.
