They find employment in community public health agencies, clinical facilities such as hospitals and medical clinics, college and university student wellness departments, voluntary agencies and worksite health promotion departments.
Two certifications are available to students completing this degree program: the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc. (offered at various national sites), and the Physical Activity in Public Health Specialist certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (offered at Appalachian).
