- Multidisciplinary nature of the programs where you get to interact with people in different streams and then comes the freedom to integrate those expertise in my own program. You get opportunities to be a multitasker with efficiency. You also get opportunities to interact and learn from real stakeholders that may directly benefit from my program.
Course Curriculum
8
- The courses are very much updated and provide current perspectives on the subject
- Yes, we worked directly with the stakeholders to determine their problem and then developing practical solutions for them
- I would say a max of 3-4 of an hour to an hour and a half each
Admission Experience
- I always wanted to pursue automated technologies for a globally critical field "Agriculture". I applied to a few universities and then went on to interview with them and got selected. However, I chose WSU for its readiness for the world with the "Precision Agriculture" Program.
- I took GRE and TOEFL, I do not remember my scores though.
Faculty
8
- The ratio is somewhere around 1:5 to 1:30. They are good and approachable, sometimes it could be difficult because they have their other responsibilities but in general, most faculty follow an appointment-based meeting, which is not difficult to get.
Campus Life
8
- Infrastructure is excellent with good resources to accomplish the project goals. There are a range of societies such as Indian Student Association, Graduate Student Associations, recreational center for sports, digital library and many more that are needed in modern day.
Part Time Jobs
- May be up to $20/h. Students can directly contact the supervisors. 20 h/week is the max allowed. It’s not very difficult to get part-time opportunities. You have to get at least over 60 % to get TA, RA or DA positions
Placement
8
- Most of the students did get the positions within 6 months of graduation. Average salary can be between 70-120 K/y at the start, depending upon the location. Internships, networking, and online applications are several ways to get into jobs.
Accommodation
Off Campus
8
- Yes, online platforms is a good way to find accommodation; monthly rents could be somewhere between $400 and $1000 per person in a 2 BHK; however, this may drop down if more people share apartments
Exams
- GRE and TOEFL/IELTS are the widely required exams to be taken by the candidate. We also need to submit CV, 3 LORs, and previous degree transcripts
Fees
- Around $18k/y for in-state and almost double for out-of-state
