Course Curriculum
- Very few courses to choose from but there are either basic stock engineering courses or courses that deal with very niche areas in the field that most people won’t choose unless their research in that area.
- Many students get opportunities to work on federal/industry funded research where you get hands on experience on cutting edge tech. In my opinion, research experience is more important than just doing coursework which will actually help you will go to your job.
- Max 3 courses per semester with 2 classes per week for every course. 3-4 days in person. Could be at any time of the day before 6pm.
- Ranges from 6-50 depending on the course. Graduate only courses have very few students whereas cross listed courses might undergrad students or other departments students of the same course where you might see higher strength
Admission Experience
- Best admit I received
- Others were IIT, NJIT, UNCC, Stevens.
- Does not consider only your cgpa but does a holistic evaluation of your profile in terms of academics, extra curriculum, GRE and every other work like projects, certificates, work experience etc.

Campus Life
- Huge campus and a lot of events like sports and entertainment.
- A diverse library.
- There is research lab for each professor conducting research for different fields.
Part Time Jobs
- Non academic: Cafeteria, library, dining halls, admin office etc pay around $15-20/hr. Academic: grading/ helproom assistant pay around $15-20/hr. Student RA pay around 20-30$/hr Graduate RA, DA and TA pays your complete tuition + 25-35$/hr. Non academic jobs are fairly easy to get but it’s not worth it. Academic jobs like grading and help room jobs are also fairly easy to get.
- Graduate DA is very very competitive. Graduate TA is mostly reserved for PhD students and almost impossible to get but maybe for summer you might get. Student RA is competitive but with good profile it is fairly possible which with consistent performance might convert to graduate RA in following semesters.
