- Small Classrooms with interaction from professor. Professors are always open and willing to teach students
- On campus jobs opportunities. While working as a graduate assistant on campus I got a lot of time to adjust in the new country and learn things faster.
- Campus location close to many affordable housing facilities. A lot of apartment residences are available near campus much affordable than the on campus housing and these are walkable to the campus
Dislikes
- Parking Issues. Its really hard to park on campus in the morning after you pay for the parking permit
- Lack of Diversity. Graduate classes are mostly occupied with international students
- Weather. The climate is really harsh in the winters and summer
Course Curriculum
- The Circulllum is flexible and they have 3 three options for my course. There is all course work option, thesis and project work option. Based on individual capabilities they ca select the coursework option.
- There are many options starting from 500 level courses to 700 level courses.
- I did not see any negative aspects of my course.
Admission Experience

I applied for 5 Universities and accepted from all 5 universities. I applied to wichita stsae university, Bradley university, University of new haven, Arizona State University, Western Michigan University. I never got rejected any university. The reason for getting admission from all the universities is strong educational background, Good grades in my Bachelors and the time that i applied when the university started taking the applications.

I choose wichita state university among all the other state university because of the tuition fee, Scholarship i got offered, I had to apply through their admission portal. The application process is quite simple and easy just like all the university application process. Once we get the admission, they request us to fill up some details about our family and some financial documents. My program has a requirement of 7 in IELTS and GRE is not mandatory.

I applied for Spring 2023. I started my application process to all the universities around August 2022. The factors that i had in my mind are less tuition fee, Employment opportunities after graduation, Manufacturing industries, Cost of Living. It tool 45 days to get my decision from the university. Once i created an account in the university and uploaded all the documents i got my i20 from the university within 1 week
Class Schedule
- There are courses completely offline, online and Hybrid.
- I have atleast 20 indian students in every course. For me i have 2-3 classes a day and 3-4 days a week.
- The average number of students in the class is around 50
Faculty
- The Faculty to student ratio is 1:15. Its pretty good number for interaction with faculty.
- The teaching methodology is using Blackboard Learn, All the classes are equipped with Projectors and PPT are used to teach.
- They have some activities in each course for the better understanding of the subject. Yes Faculty helped me in finding Internships. I admire the professors of Lean Manufacturing and Control Systems.
Campus Life
- There are many campuses on campus named, Engineering, Business School, Arts and Finances and many more.
- There are libraries, grounds, stadiums, gym, health services, police station.
- There are many clubs like SGA, SCA, IISE, ISA, Ameya, Gaming and other student organizations.
- All the international festivals are celebrated all around the campus. Most of the events are free of cost
Part Time Jobs

I do not have a count. It completely depend on the faculty requirements, availability and other circumstances. There many criteria for selecting as a TA, RA or DA Position The Pay Range is from 10-18 dollars and hour with additional scholarships and benefits. Most of the OnCampus Jobs are available for International Students.

The hourly wages for other jobs range from 7 dollar to 14 dollar an hour. 20 hours is the max allowed to work on campus. It is difficult to get an oncampus job due to many international students

Students earn from 7- 16 dollar an hour based. Its on the position and place they work.It's hard to get an oncampus job because of competition and a lot of international students.Few offices take resumes and schedule interviews and recruit students. Some of them post on the university Oncampus job portal. Some are internally hired with references. Most of the jobs take interview before hiring.
Placement
- 30-40% students get a job within 6 months of completing the course. In am not aware of the average salary, depends on the job, experience, their course work and lot of other things.
- There are some portals where you can apply for jobs like handshake, LinkedIn and many more. Mostly industrial students get hired in Spirit and many medical devices manufacturing Industry.
Accommodation
- I had my Seniors who helped me find the accommodation.
- There are some whatsApp groups for the Indian students and some mission groups which will help to find accommodation. The rent is 220 and utilities like electricity and wifi are additional things .
- I did not have any difficulties because of my seniors. But Whatsapp groups are best way to help each other out.
- My accommodation is 0.5 miles away from the university and most of the indian students live in Tall Oaks apartments.
Exams
- My university accept TOEFL, IELTS and Duolingo. I provided them my IELTS Score. GRE is not mandatory.
- The University needed Statement of Purpose, 3 LOR, Resume, Unofficial or Official transcript.
- There is no interview as part of my application> If the university requires and additional documents they will contact you by their Email and the entire process for the application is online.
Fees
- The Fees Structure is pretty simple, You only have to pay it each semester before the end of the beginning semester.
- There are flexible ways to pay the university fess using credit cards and payment plan which allow you to pay the university fees in 3 EMI options.
- We have a tuition fee, Campus infrastructure fees, insurance, Online books, Lab Charges. the monthly estimated expense living off campus would be 600- 800 dollars.
- The transportation is almost free since most of the locations are covered by Wichita transit and its free for all the wsu students
Scholarship
- Yes, I received Global Select Scholarship which gave me 35% fee reduction and later i got graduate assistant scholarship which gave me 55% scholarship later on.
- I dont know anyone who got financial aid, but most of my friends got global select scholarship.
- I am not aware of the average scholarship each year but global select scholarship is typically 35% of the tuition fee
