Colleges Where I Was Accepted
Reason for choosing my college
- Low fee cost and low cost of living were the primary reasons. But after coming here I realized, the facilities, culture, and learning are really good.
- Part-time On campus is also very good with a lot of options and graduate assistantships are also generous. They also offer a MOGO scholarship for everyone who has more than 80% in their undergrad.
Colleges Where I Was Rejected
Reason for Rejection
The admissions were already full. Should have applied a little sooner. For Admission in spring 2023 I applied in Aug 2022. I have been offered to get accepted for fall 2023 but would be deviating for me.

Tips to enhance your application
Your intent to learn the course should be important and clear reasons as to why you are choosing this university should be provided. Your relevance with the course you are opting and any relevant work experience should be provided.
Admission Experience
- The overall experience has been great. Campus has a lot to offer.
- The courses offered are good and industry-relevant (Enterprise data analytics, software quality testing, computer vision, machine learning, AI, data science, advanced internet programming etc) and the professors are always happy to help you. Also, you get to do a minor certificate in data science or Software quality assurance by choosing 4 courses out of your entire credits relevant to those.
- The university ranking is also good, is one of the best universities in the mid-west. They organise career fairs and you get access to the handshake portal where you get university-recommended jobs.
Class Schedule
- 3 courses per semester, so there are at least 6 classes in a week.
- It is mostly filled with international students with at least 60% of Indians.
- Class stretch depends on the number of classes per week. 3 per week is 50 min a class, 2 per week is 1hr 15min a class. And you would have to give at least an hour every day to complete your assignments.
Faculty
Faculty here are good. They try to teach you the best and give you some value for the time when you are in class. They are very approachable with good knowledge of their subject. The assignments are sometimes challenging but you get guidance. They might also help you with referrals if you are a part of a graduate assistantship or helping them with their research.
Campus Life
A lot of events happen on campus, you have a bear bash for freshers, events for Halloween, and Football matches are so hyped up here. You have movie nights, karaoke nights, pot paintings and many more to interact with fellow students.
Part Time Jobs
- $12.5 is the average you get paid at the part-time jobs.
- You have a lot of on-campus jobs, in dining halls, residence halls, food courts, desk jobs, and campus maintenance jobs. You get into one through the university job opportunity portal and through walk-ins to the office.
- TA/GA/RA roles for the computer science department are hired through the campus recruitment portal. If you are qualified through an interview process, you should be willing to present a thesis by the end of your term.
- You get to work 20 hrs/week with fees waived off completely.
- You get paid a $1000 stipend for working.
Placement
- Very few people (40%) have secured jobs within 6 months.
- The state of Missouri and health care facilities like Cox Health and Mercy offer good positions for the students of the university.
- The average salary being $50000 - $60000.
- Job search is mostly through LinkedIn and referrals.
Accommodation
Online and walk-in to the property's office is the only way. Southwood properties, C.arch Bay and co, Bear gardens, and Bear Village are some of the off-campus living options. I wouldn’t choose bear gardens because of their restricted space.
