Required Exams for Admission

SAT (1570)

I chose this university bcz of it's location and program strength - it is top 15 in the US for CS and top 10 for data science. I chose this program because of its utility, high earning potential + capacity to get into business later. As mentioned, what I liked previously.

Course Curriculum

9

Course curriculum is up to date. They’re introducing a new school of computing as well, as many new majors. Had to look for experience on my side though. Not much spoon feeding as compared to private schools with dedicated recruitment channels.

Faculty

6

Not sure about faculty to faculty-to-student ratio. For cs and math classes, it’s very high, with one teacher having maybe 100-400 students, and around 5-7 TAs and tutors. professors also vary but most are approachable, with dedicated class office hours, tutor hours for every TA and tutor in the class. No particular professor impacted me since I mostly attend my classes remotely since they record lectures as well.

Campus Life

7

Pretty fun, all major clubs and fraternities are available. Wifi is good, the gym is great, casual sports are very accessible, and lots of events are hosted by clubs including cultural ones. Library is very famous - Geisel, named after Dr. Seuss.

Placement

5

I have no idea about the median salary. Placements are great, provided you put in the effort. Quant placements are low due to the fact that it’s not a top school like MIT/ Stanford/ Caltech etc., most other jobs are fine.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

It’s quite expensive, around 17k USD for a year for a double room. Single room is around 18.5K and a triple is around 15.5/16k USD. No other choices exist, all are pretty spacious and well laid out. Much better than most schools like UCLA in terms of spacing and layout.

Exams

- Nothing in specific, I had a 40/42 ib predicted and 1570 SAT - 9th grade 83%; 10th grade 97.2%; 11th grade 39/42 ib1 finals, 40/42 predicted, mid year report 40/42 - Requirements: No interviews, no cv. Submitted 4 essays to do with my interests and motivation, and 13 activities on the UC application. No SoPs like the commonapp/ UK SoP

Fees

70,000 dollars for internationals including accommodation and tuition.
