What Students Say?
Likes
- This University has top notch professors and world class education meeting current industry standards with amazing facilities.
- Exposure to various advancements in technology will enabled me to understand how the world is changing in technology front.
Dislikes
- The university is in downtown which is good but doesn't really give you a university vibe as the buildings are spread across downtown among other buildings.
I got admitted into IUPUI through an accelerated Master's program in MOU with my undergrad institute Nalla Malla Reddy Engineering College in Hyderabad, India. The admission and transition wasn't a hassle as IUPUI had a great international student services team who helped me with almost everything.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum at IUPUI is adequate I would say. I took 4 subjects in my first semester and 3 in second semester. The courses are well outlined and also mention clearly if there are prerequisites to be taken. The course enrollment team will help if there are any queries regarding any course. Each course has a limited number of seats to meet the faculty to student ratio, so it's a great thing to have like minded students around who are really interested in the course.
Placement
There is a Career Centre where there are a lot of people who will help in preparing for a job but the university doesn't explicitly bring on campus placements, so its on one's own talent that will get a job after finishing a degree here but there are plenty of opportunities in and around Indianapolis for technical roles.
Fees
The program costs you around $30k per year and I got an education loan to meet my educational expenses at IUPUI. There are scholarship programs available with IUPUI for which there are some eligibility criteria to be met.
Campus Life
Campus life in IUPUI is really fascinating as the campus is located in Downtown Indianapolis, there is always something or the other happening in and around campus. There are seasonal fests and regular fests to keep students engaged and energetic. There are plenty of clubs for various functionalities from studies to music and even more on campus. I don't regret joining IUPUI.
Hostel
Most of the graduate students prefer off campus housing as it is affordable than on campus while you can also explore life living off campus. There are multiple housing communities around IUPUI campus where most of the students live. Most of them are apartments so it is safe too.
