- Close to home, cheaper than other colleges, Good for my field and research.
My experience, especially as a recent transfer student to my institution, has been swell. I personally enjoy the city and feel happier walking around campus because of its location. It provides a better sense of community and a lot more activities for people. There are also many opportunities for research that I think are great for students.
Course Curriculum
The curriculum is updated and uses many modern languages. I have also obtain field experience through research from my school.
Faculty
Considering it is arguably the biggest school in the state there are a lot of students compared to teachers. However this is mainly for gen ed’s, which usually have separate smaller classes as well.
Campus Life
There are many clubs and events for all students. There are multiple libraries and buildings for people to work and a good sense of community.
Placement
Since tech in STEM is a rapidly rising field there are many opportunities for research, as we are also a top ranked research school. however in terms of companies, we have an IBM sponsorship but that it’s the only big company that pays our school mind. the rest are local big companies.
Accommodation
I live off campus and transferred here, but I know that most freshman housing are doubles or singles.
Exams
My scores to get into my university were a 29 on the ACT and a 3.6 GPA. I did not take the SAT. I did not have to submit anything for admission besides transcripts and essay prompts.
Fees
~8500 with no housing.
Scholarship
I received a Life scholarship from the state for 7,500 a year and an Engineering scholarship for 1000 a year.
