It was a really good and different experience. At first I thought it was very stressful but then you start liking the life here. It is definitely an experience that everyone should have once in their lifetime.

Course Curriculum

9

The course and curriculum is very updated and mew technologies are being taught including AI and Crypto.

Exams

Admission requirements - SOP, 3x LOR, GRE (Optional), TOEFL >95. I scored 313 in GRE so I submitted my score regardless of the requirement. I scored 101 in TOEFL. I had taken 2 LORs from my undergrad professors and 1 from my manager at work. I did submit SOP, LOR and Resume. Due to my low undergrad GPA, my focus for SOP was more on my work. I would suggest everyone to write about their strong points and also justify the weaker ones and how are you working to improve them.

Placement

8

There were a lot of companies that came in career fairs like Epic health, Mass Brigham Hospital, Yahoo, Ebay and many more for SDE, Data analytics, Data science and other business roles. Median salary for a SDE role is around $100k.

Internship

I interned at Office Depot and worked as a Software Developer Intern. They paid me $40 per hour for remote work. I worked for 40 hours per week. LinkedIn helped me get the job. I would suggest everyone to start applying as soon as possible for internships.

Fees

The full course duration is 2 years (4 semesters excluding summer semester) but can be finished in 1.5 years (4 semesters including summer semester). The 2 year one would cost around 95k and the 1.5 year one would cost around 65k-70k.

Scholarship

Unfortunately, BU does not provide scholarships.

Faculty

9

The faculty to student ratio is around 1:20. Every professor that I had were amazing. They had really good knowledge on what they were teaching and were very helpful. 2 professors that were really good were Prof. Reza Rawassizadeh and Prof. Ed Orsini.

Campus Life

Campus life is pretty fun. We have regular events for networking which helps a lot. There are not much events for sports as every grad student is busy with studies. Library is good too.

Hostel

10

There is a very limited amount of on campus housing which costs from $775 to $975 including all utilities including electricity. This is actually a bargain for a private room in Boston. Students can easily get accommodations near the University for around $850 without utilities and $450 if sharing a room.
