Likes
- The teaching process is very interactive and professors are very friendly.
- The university provides lot of study resources to the students.
Dislikes
- The quarter system makes the curriculum a bit hectic.
- Three courses are to be completed within a span of 10 weeks which make it difficult for professors to cover all the topics and students to learn them.
Its an overall good experience to study at University of Chicago but one should consider the university fees before taking a call to join the university. Because of the university ranking and teaching curriculum which has good reviews from previous students.
Course Curriculum
The course content is updated except for ML track.
Exams
My scores: GRE - 321 Verbal -153 Quant - 168 Writing - 3.0 TOEFL -109/120. Quant score has higher weightage as per my understanding. 3 LORs and 1 SOP is to be submitted. There are no interviews conducted. One point to note for non CS students is to try get a LOR from their employer(if working).Research about the university online and mention about the points that you like in SOP.
Placement
Most of the students get placed and as said there are not many companies visited and drives in the University.
Scholarship
There is no scholarship provided for MPCS program.
Faculty
Faculty are highly approachable and friendly. They conduct regular office hours to interact with students and clarify their doubts.
Campus Life
There are lot of clubs in every region, gym , library , wifi are available.
Hostel
Accommodation is not provided for masters students. MPCS students stay in nearby areas to university.
