Students learn about the cultures and areas of the world where is spoken, and the major can be tailored to the interest of the student. Graduates are employed in the teaching, business, government and non-profit sectors. All entering freshmen must receive language placement for languages with which they have prior experience to determine their beginning course level for that language.
The French major and minor are associated with the?Department of Modern Languages. A major generally requires 10 courses depending on entry-level placement, and a minor generally requires 5-6 courses, depending on entry-level placement. All modern language majors must spend a minimum of one semester on a study abroad program, course of study, or internship approved by the language program director.?
