Our program creates biologists who are creative, curious, and think critically about the world around them. The biology program offers small lab-based courses taught by faculty with expertise in biology, neuroscience, environmental science, paleontology, and biochemistry. You will have access to state-of-the-art labs in our LEED Certified Meldrum Science Center for both coursework and research projects. What You'll Learn

• Develop an understanding of the major concepts in the biological sciences, focusing on sub-fields like evolutionary biology, cell and molecular biology, genetics, anatomy and physiology, ecology, global change biology, and microbiology.
• Understand the scientific method and use it to address biological questions.
• Critically evaluate biological data to formulate valid conclusions.
• Communicate data in both written and verbal formats.
• Develop lab and field techniques and skills specific to an area of specialization within biology.
• Explore relationships between science and society, and evaluate the ethical implications of scientific study.
