- The literature concentration is part of the English major at Messiah University. As a student in the literature concentration, students will study particular genres of literature—including British literature, American literature and postcolonial and world literature—in addition to taking critical theory and writing courses. Students also choose from a wide array of courses devoted to periods, geographical areas, ethnicities, genres and individual authors from Shakespeare to Nabokov.
