The Educational Studies curriculum is designed for students interested in becoming teachers, studying educational issues, working with children and families in a variety of settings and occupations, or attending graduate school.Whatever one's professional pursuit, the educational journey at Illinois Wesleyan University is both demanding and rewarding.

The goal is to graduate teacher scholars for social justice who are well-grounded in their disciplines; reflective, resourceful, and responsive in the field; and committed to challenging the inequities embedded in schooling and society.

The faculty work with our students on an intimate basis from the first class they take until they graduate; they are exceptionally caring, always accessible, and exemplify the teacher-scholar model we encourage our students to become.
