Likes
- One of the best in the Peace and conflict studies department. But one should always enquire about other details before coming here.
- The department I am a part of is one of the best in itself but otherwise there is nothing great about the university. Good professors and opportunities, mostly unpaid, just for entertainment. But no opportunities otherwise.
Dislikes
- No opportunities for anyone other than Nigerians or blacks. Bradford is almost inhabitable with no job opportunities or very poor standard of living. There are no houses or accommodations available and if at all available they are very expensive. There are no jobs or support from the university to any other nationality other than Nigerians or Africans. Its been a biggest mistake to choose the university of Bradford, over others.
Required Exams for Admission
Its been more than a month, and I have finally realized, it was one of the biggest mistake to choose the university, not in terms of faculty or academics, but in terms of growth and available opportunities, it is the worst decision.
Course Curriculum
The course and curriculum and academics are great, as mentioned earlier, its one of the best department across the UK, but when we talk about opportunities, its mostly only for Nigerians or Africans, and nothing for people from other nationalities. Its a good curriculum, but not designed to support the time table of the students.
Faculty
It varies from module to module, in some module it is 30:1 and in some modules 123:1, so the student to teacher ratio is very poor. Delayed results and evaluations, as the professors are very loaded, making it tough for them too.
Campus Life
Campus life is horrible, with a very poor standard of living around Bradford, however there are n number of extra curriculars and events in the campus, but as I mentioned, there are almost no prospects in Bradford, so most of us live away from Bradford, making it almost impossible to attend maximum of it.
Placement
Not great, You have to look and help yourself, almost no placement support from the university. There are almost no research support for Indians to be specific, a lot of support in funding and other financial support for Africans and Nigerians and even Pakistanis, but none for Indians.
Accommodation
No rooms for couples with children, for couples base rate in Bradford in 550 pounds per month, including gas and electricity, in a shared home. An individual flat costs more than 500 pounds and the gas bill and electricity costs make the per month cost of 900 pounds, which is surely not even close to the income available in the town.
Exams
IELTS 8.5, no other tests required, as I said, their only goal is maximum students therefore, in most of the courses there is almost no filter, because a lot of students I met especially in the project management and management courses, have almost no required qualifications to be here, but they are here to work and get a residency. SOP, CV, LOR. It must be updated and recent, rest university of Bradford is taking students with open arms.
Fees
12500 Pounds. and 5000 pounds as a scholarship. But please don\t pay this amount to come to Bradford, rather pay 1000 pounds more but choose any other university.
Scholarship
5000 POUNDS scholarship by the university.
