Learning Beyond Borders

This was the best decision I have ever made. Leaving a secure job in my home country and traveling to a new one to pursue my education was completely worth it. The university provides an excellent platform for interacting with professionals and students from diverse backgrounds.

The course curriculum is comprehensive, encompassing all aspects of design thinking from conceptualization to implementation. Students are presented with six projects to hone their skills and enhance their learning. However, in my particular curriculum, one project was grouped with other disciplinary courses, resulting in a suboptimal outcome due to issues such as poor team bonding and communication, insufficient project duration, limited feedback sessions, and unrealistic project goals.

Within my batch, there are approximately 3-4 lecturers and 10-12 tutors who provide constant guidance and support for learning. The faculty and staff are highly approachable, although it is necessary to book a time slot whenever required. Personally, my tutor, John, has helped me understand my perspective on design and unlocking my fullest potential when working on projects.

Within the college, we have access to a plethora of extracurricular activities such as exhibits, workshops, competitions, student clubs, events, digital and physical libraries, 3D printers, product design tools and machines, as well as free printers and a stationary shop.

As of now, I cannot confirm the status of the placement offers since the recruitment process has yet to commence. However, I do know that the college has an extensive network, but it is up to the students to apply for job opportunities. The college provides support in terms of creating portfolios and guidance on the application process. Many students from the previous batch have had excellent job prospects and are currently working at EDsheren, Fog studio, and other prominent organizations.

I am staying in a studio with dual occupancy so the share is divided between two people. I think for students it is best to stay in student accommodation places so that all the utility bills are included and there is security too. Apart from this, there is always an opportunity to meet like minded people(students) and make new friends. There are other rental options as well like renting an apartment but there is a lot of paperwork to be done and scams happening.

For my course specific: portfolio, video introducing yourself, SOP, LOR,IELTS 8.0, previous academic certificates. SOP: 1. Introduce yourself, About Family (including parents’ names, their occupation, details of siblings, etc), name of the course, college and country you are applying for, particular reason for course selection, career aspiration, Work experience – Name of the company, your designation and duties involved, already know about the subject or the course, Why is it important for you to study in this institution, financial background, how are you going to fund this course, Future plans after course completion. LOR: Name of the person writing the LOR, designation, association with you, Projects/activities you did under him/her, achievements/accomplishments you had while associating with him.
