Master of Science [M.S] [Accounting and Financial Management - Financial Accounting] From Uppsala University

The Master Programme in Accounting and Financial Management - Financial Accounting has a duration of two academic years, with the opportunity to finish the studies after one year.

In the specialisation Financial Accounting you will conduct studies related to both accounting and auditing. Problems are studied and analysed from both an accounting and legal perspective. This field of study is suitable for those who plan to work within the fields of, and or do research in, accounting and auditing.

During the first and second semester you will take courses that are mandatory and common to all students in the Master Programme in Accounting and Financial Management, as well as courses specific for the specialisation in Financial Accounting.

The third semester is elective, which means that you can either choose elective courses at Uppsala University, or you can apply for exchange studies abroad among our partner universities around the world. There is also possible to do an internship at a company/organisation. During the fourth and final semester you write a 30 credit Master's thesis where you will go more in-depth within a particular area of the specialisation in Financial Accounting.

Career

With knowledge of accounting and auditing it is possible to work in both a national and international labour market. Both the private and the publicly funded sector offers interesting jobs in accounting and auditing. The programme also lays a good foundation for further research studies.?
