The program is based on the nurse's core competencies and occupational responsibilities, as well as a holistic view of people in need of care. The focus is on the patient and the family in a care context throughout the life cycle. Equality and accessibility are emphasized in a person-centered and co-operative approach, which deals with relationships between healthcare providers, patient and family, as well as in the surrounding community.You study nursing science with a focus on nursing in the light of the broader health and welfare area. Issues that involve equality and participation, professional knowledge and development, as well as creativity and innovation are in focus. You also develop your understanding of leadership, groups and organizations as well as evidence-based practice and evaluation. The program is given in English and you are studying the courses in health and welfare together with students from other master's programs and postgraduate programs. The program is two-year but can be completed after one year with a master's degree. It is also possible to read the program at half-speed.
