The Masters programme in Criminology at Malm? University has a multi-disciplinary foundation and is based on collaboration across the borders of traditional disciplines and subject areas. The programme develops in students a broad competency that covers several different occupational areas.
Having completed the programme, you will understand the importance of, and will yourself be able to manage, collaborations between different professions within the field of criminology.
Teaching is conducted in English throughout the programme.
What might lie ahead?
There is a major need to create better conditions for collaborations on issues relating to crime, substance abuse and mental health problems ? particularly within the public sector, the healthcare sector and the justice system.
As a criminologist, you will be able to work in a range of different occupational environments, such as the Police, the National Council for Crime Prevention, the National Board for Youth Affairs and the Prison and Probation Service.
The Masters programme provides specialist knowledge in the fields of prevention and risk-assessment and opens up opportunities for a career in risk-assessment or as an expert, for example. There are also opportunities to embark upon a research career. Since the department prioritises internationalisation and since the program is given in English, students will also well-prepared for a future, global labour market.
