Universities in Taiwan offer various forms of financial aid to help international students get their education at efficient prices. Government scholarships are purposeful in promoting education in Taiwan among students from foreign countries. College fees are made affordable by the individual scholarships and fellowships provided by the universities. The eligibility criteria differ for all scholarships and fellowships in Taiwan but all students being offered the financial aid needed to excel academically and maintain a good character. It is necessary to meet the criteria for language proficiency :-
There are instances wherein a ROC national or overseas Chinese student is not eligible for scholarships. Also, students cannot apply for another scholarship if they are receiving any other financial aid from the Taiwan Government agency or university in Taiwan. Students will not be eligible if they hold a scholarship for a total of five years or have had their scholarship revoked. It is necessary to apply for a course degree at a university in Taiwan to avail of any scholarships.

Students can apply for the scholarships in Taiwan only after they have completed their online admission form for the university they want to attend. It is important to keep check of all the documents required at the time of application so be sure to go through the official list of essentials needed. The students will be selected on the basis of their GPA and academic as well as research skills. The selection process for scholarships at the universities in Taiwan are primarily based on their foreign citizen status and their merit records. It is very important for a student wishing to apply for an undergraduate scholarship in Taiwan to have a GPA of 3.0 or above and a 3.5 or above for graduate scholarships. Students are required to produce a language proficiency certificate as well for courses taking place in Chinese (TOFCL) and/or in English (TOEFL).
