International students who wish to receive University of Alabama scholarships must apply for admissions at the university before the deadline. To be eligible for scholarships, the students are only required to hold an admission offer to the University of Alabama and have met the required eligibility criteria for scholarships. The eligibility criteria varies for each scholarship along with varying amounts and application procedure. To get University of Alabama undergraduate scholarships, applicants must have a good GPA of 3.5 or above in high school with satisfactory SAT/ACT scores. For graduate scholarships, applicants must be admitted to their respective master’s or doctoral degree programs. 

The selection procedure for scholarships will be based on requirements met. Undergraduate students may receive a scholarship award up to 28,000 (23.13 lakhs INR) while the graduate students are awarded a maximum award of 25,000 USD (20.66 lakhs INR) in the form of fellowships.

The University of Alabama scholarships for undergraduate students available with varying eligibility criteria, application process, amount and deadlines. Application Process

Prospective international students must apply for admissions at University of Alabama to be considered for scholarships. Students upon receiving the admission offer may apply for scholarships. Some scholarships may require additional documents and have specific deadlines to apply. Submission of test scores such as SAT/ACT is highly encouraged for undergraduate applicants. Graduate applicants may also submit their scores to improve their chances of admission.

Notifications
  • Summer/Fall Admits:
    Several factors go into a student’s competitive award, and it will not be uncommon for students admitted by an earlier date to receive a later notification. If you do not receive a notification for an early round, your scholarship application will roll to the final round for further review.
    • Notifications can be expected in late February.
  • Spring Admits:
    • Notifications can be expected in mid-December.

Selection Process

The selection process for University of Alabama scholarships is based on applicant's academic accomplishments, extracurricular involvement, other accomplishments, leadership potential and test scores. Students with higher GPA will be given preference. Some scholarships are highly competitive and only high achieving candidates shortlisted.
