The Whitworth Trust Fund awards scholarships to students in the field of engineering, who live in the UK. The Whitworth Scholarships are given at the levels of Undergraduate & Masters and Postgraduate Research.
Students are selected based on their talent, and the awardees will become members of and get to participate in activities of the Whitworth Society, which is a group of professional engineers in the UK.

This scholarship opportunity is meant for students enrolling into an undergraduate or postgraduate degree-level engineering course, in any branch of study.
A candidate can only receive a maximum of one scholarship at the undergraduate level and at the postgraduate level.

The application form has to be filled out and submitted along with documents of proof to Karen Frost, ASK House, IMechE Prizes and Awards, Northgate Avenue, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP32 6BB, or to awards@whitworthscholarships.org.uk.
The deadline for submission is July 31 every year. Additionally, you must also get your referees to submit a copy of your application form and a confidential report document before July 10.
All applications will receive an acknowledgement with a unique reference number within seven working days.
After going through all the applications, the committee calls shortlisted candidates for an interview, which will usually happen in August.
The candidates are assessed by the Institution and all decisions are made at their discretion.
Founded by Sir Joseph Whitworth in 1868, the Whitworth Scholarships are under the Trust of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Talented engineering students are selected and awarded scholarships in many universities in the UK.
No awardee can receive more than a total of 36,000 GBP. However, recipients are free to hold any awards other than a Whitworth Award alongside The Whitworth Scholarship Award.
