Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Sydney Business School Continuing UG Merit Scholarship applicants must:

  • be an undergraduate or honors student
  • have completed one year of their UG degree course at the University of Sydney Business School.
  • have scored at least a minimum of 48 credit points in their coursework.
  • specialize in the business discipline (in case of honors students).
  • not be in the record of any other primary scholarship.

Top-ranked students are usually selected for the scholarship. It is therefore suggested that the student must maintain their full-time enrollment at the university.


Application Process

The candidates who are looking to apply for the Sydney Business School Continuing UG Merit Scholarship need not require to fill any application form. Eligible students who fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the University of Sydney are automatically considered for the scholarship.


Selection Process

The Sydney Business School Continuing UG Merit Scholarship is awarded to top-ranked candidates with good undergraduate performance. The selection criteria for the scholarship are:

  • academic ranking.
  • Annual Average Mark (AAM) with over 48 credit points in their business degree in the prior year.

To receive the scholarship, students must enroll in a standard full-time load of 48 credit points (24 credit points per semester). If two students have an identical AAM, Weighted Average Mark (WAM) will be used as the selection criteria.


Grant Details

The Sydney Business School Continuing UG Merit Scholarship is awarded to candidates enrolled in a UG business program at the University of Sydney. An award of AUD 6,000 per year is awarded. This scholarship is available for both undergraduate and honors programs.

Students who have been awarded the scholarship for one year can also be considered for the scholarship the next year only if they meet the eligibility criteria.

  • Scholarship must be taken up in the semester offered and cannot be deferred.
  • Recipients must maintain a minimum of 75% distinction average in semester 1 to receive the second installment in semester 2.
  • Honors students are required to make acceptable progress in their Honours program.
  • Students who withdraw are liable to repay that semester’s stipend. The same applies to the students who take a leave of absence.

The payment of the scholarship amount is done in equal installments for the two semesters. In case a student accepts an alternative scholarship awarded by the University of Sydney, it may lead to the termination of the continuing scholarship awarded.
