SETU Waterford academic scholarship is a 100% and 50% tuition fee waiver offered to incoming non-EU students. The scholarship is funded by the WIT’s International Office.

  • Applications for the WIT Undergraduate Scholarship 2026 before May 4.
  • The scholarship is only applicable to the Waterford Institute of Technology UG programs.
  • Submission of student supporting documentation is mandatory, either via mail or post.
  • The SETU Waterford academic scholarship programme is open to self-funding non-EU students for full-time programmes of study.? 
  • To renew the WIT undergraduate scholarship, the recipient must achieve at 60% in the overall grades.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Waterford Institute of Technology Undergraduate Scholarship states that only non-EU students can apply for the award. Students from eligible nationalities must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Self-funding non-EU students.
  • Unconditional/conditional offer of admission at Waterford Institute of Technology.
  • The SETU Waterford academic scholarship programme is open to self-funding non-EU students for full-time programmes of study.? 

A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent is required (with a minimum of 6.0 in each band). 


Application Process

If you wish to apply for an Office for International Relations scholarship, please submit your application no later than 4 May.


Selection Process

Waterford Institute of Technology Undergraduate Scholarship selections is done by the International Office Program Committee. Selections are majorly based on the following factors:

  • Academic scores
  • Fulfillment of eligibility criteria
  • An updated resume
  • Work experience, if available

The selection will be done after analyzing the overall strength of the application.

Recipients will be informed about their selection for the Waterford Institute of Technology UG Scholarship in June.


Grant Details

  • The SETU Waterford academic scholarship for postgraduate programmes provides for a reduction of €2,000 for full time, taught postgraduate programmes. 
  • The SETU Waterford academic scholarship for undergraduate programmes provides for a reduction of 100% and 50% tuition fee for each year of the programmes, subject to the student achieving an average grade of 60% in each academic year of the programme of study.
