The LSE Undergraduate Support Scheme is presented to international students who are not able to cover their financial requirements to study in the UK. It is awarded to students who wish to pursue any UG program offered by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

  • The entrance awards help fund students of all nationalities.
  • The amount of aid provided varies based on the requirements of the student,
    • On average, it ranges between 15,000 GBP and 25,000 GBP
  • The awards are renewable annually for the chosen program to study at the London School of Economics and Business.

A separate application to secure the scholarship has to be submitted once enrolled at LSE.

The application form must be submitted before May 1, 2026, to be considered for the same.

Eligibility Criteria

Prospective applicants must secure admission at LSE to be eligible to apply for LSE Undergraduate Support Scheme. Along with this, applicants must satisfy the eligibility requirements listed below:

  • Must be an international student.
  • Must enroll for any of the UG Programs offered by LSE.
  • Must have financial requirements or insufficient funds to meet the costs of studying at LSE.

Application Process

Once you have an offer of admission (conditional or unconditional) to attend LSE, you should submit by email to financial-support@lse.ac.uk the following:

  • LSE Undergraduate Scholarship Application Form
  • One academic reference - this can be sent by you together with your scholarship application, or it can be sent to us separately by your referee
  • Supporting documents - this will vary depending on the information you have provided; further guidance can be found in the scholarship application form

Application form, along with the student's supporting documentation, must be submitted before May 1, 2026.


Selection Process

The selection for LSE Undergraduate Support Scheme is based on the financial needs of the applicant.

The academic merit might be taken into consideration if there are two applicants with the same financial aid requirements found.


Grant Details

The LSE Undergraduate Support Scheme provides financial support for international students who wish to study at LSE.

Students who showcase financial need and are pursuing a UG degree at LSE are eligible to apply.

  • The award amount provided would be based on individual requirements and ranges between 15,000-25,000 GBP.

LSE receives a number of applications, far more than they can aid, hence not all the applications made for assistance would qualify and be selected.
