Tulane University offers a full-tuition merit scholarship to meritorious first-time UG freshmen students in the form of the Tulane Dean’s Honor Scholarship (DHS).

  • Applies to all incoming first-time domestic and international students.
  • Valid for bachelor’s degree programs at Tulane University
  • Selections of Tulane Dean’s Honor Scholarship are made on the basis of academic merit.
  • A separate Dean’s Honor Scholarship 2022-23 application must be submitted before December 5, 2022.
  • The Tulane Dean’s Honor Scholarship covers the full cost of tuition for the recipient.

Since the award covers only the tuition fee the students receiving this award will have to bear the additional costs at the university. However, students can combine the DHS award with a partial athletic scholarship or Tulane need-based financial aid for international students at Tulane University.

Eligibility Criteria

The Dean’s Honor Scholarship is eligible to all meritorious students pursuing a full-time bachelor’s degree program at Tulane University. Also, the university looks for additional qualities that separate exceptional candidates from the rest.

  • Applicants are required to apply for admission via Early Decision (November 15)/ Early Action (November 1) deadlines.
  • Applying candidates should possess superior high school results.
  • Exceptionally competitive standardized test scores (Average ACT score above 31 & SAT score above 1400)
  • The students should have experience in community and secondary school involvement.
  • They should also exhibit brilliant intellectual potential.

Eligibility for Continuation of Dean’s Honor Scholarship

For the renewal of the scholarship, recipients need to meet the required criteria for admission. Students need to maintain:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.00
  • Full-time enrollment in Newcomb-Tulane College, School of Architecture, School of Science and Engineering, School of Liberal Arts, or Freeman School of Business.

Recipients who fail to maintain the Code of Student Conduct or Code of Academic Conduct will lose the remaining portions of the Tulane Dean’s Honor Scholarship(DHS).


Application Process

After applying for admissions to Tulane University in a full-time Bachelor’s Program, meritorious students need to apply separately to be considered for the Dean’s Honor Scholarship. Applicants must submit:

  • A completed admission application to the university (via Early Decision/ Early Action).
  • All supporting documents for admission
  • A separate scholarship application through Green Wave Portal by December 5, 2022
  • A creative project
  • Teacher recommendation

Grant Details

Tulane Dean’s Honor Scholarship (DHS) is a merit-based scholarship awarded by Tulane University to incoming first-time freshmen applicants who want to study in the USA. The scholarship is awarded by the Office of Undergraduate Admission at Tulane University.

  • DHS is renewable up to four years (if student maintains a good academic standing)
