Swansea International Excellence Scholarship
The Swansea International Excellence Scholarship is designed for international students starting graduate programs at the university. we have a number of International Excellence Scholarships available for students who have already demonstrated academic excellence or show potential to do so during their time at Swansea University.
- The applicant must secure admission at Swansea University prior to completing the application form for the scholarship.
- UG Swansea International Excellence Scholarship is disbursed in two installments.
- Scholarships are awarded as a discount on tuition fees and worth up to 6719.75 USD for postgraduate courses.
- Selections are based on academic merit, language proficiency, and performance.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for Swansea International Excellence Scholarship, an applicant
- Must be an international student
- Must have enrolled for the first time at Swansea University
- Must have received an unconditional/conditional admission offer for the chosen UG/PG degree program.
- Students of Graduate Diploma in Law, Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate or Erasmus Mundus program is NOT eligible
- Must be self-funded and not be receiving any funds/grants.
Note: The scholarship is for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Doctorate students are not eligible to apply or this scholarship.
Application Process
Before applying for Swansea International Excellence Scholarship, it is mandatory for applicants to secure admission at Swansea University.
Applicants then must complete an online scholarship application form. The form should be complete in all respects to avoid rejection.
Selection Process
Recipients of the Swansea International Excellence Scholarship are shortlisted and selected on the basis of academic merit.
However, the previous academic record and performance, along with the fulfillment of all the eligibility criteria are taken into consideration prior to taking the final decision. Also, an applicant’s IELTS score plays a crucial role.
The decision of the Swansea University Awarding Committee is final and binding on all the applicants.
Note: Interviews are taken if necessary through an electronic medium.
Grant Details
The Swansea International Excellence Scholarship is available for international postgraduate students. A scholarship of £4,000 is available for PG students for the first-year of study.
The awarding committee of the university is the sole authority for deciding these scholarships. The applicants may get lower or higher amounts than what they have applied for.
Swansea International Excellence Scholarship Withdrawal Procedure
- If Swansea university finds recipients’ performance to be non-satisfactory, it has a right to withdraw, either whole or part of, the scholarship.
- If the recipient wants to withdraw from the university, he/she has to refund the amount of scholarship
The university gives an opportunity to make an appeal to the International development office within 15 days from the date the scholarship is withdrawn, in case the applicant finds the step unjustified.
