Deakin Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship is offered to international students pursuing any undergraduate and postgraduate coursework program. The scholarship program awards 50% tuition fee waiver to the recipients commencing their studies at Deakin University.

  • Apart from academic merit, a candidate’s personal statements make a significant role during the selection procedure.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates planning to apply for Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship are required to establish eligibility by fulfilling the requirements given below:

  • Must be an international student planning to do a coursework degree at Deakin University.
    • Be it bachelors or master's program.
    • 85% overall in Year 12 scores of CBSE / ICSE / State Board; OR
      10 overall in the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) / A Level; OR
      32 overall in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP); OR
      80% overall in an undergraduate degree.
  • Must not be a recipient of any other Deakin scholarship or bursary.

Only those applicants who fulfill the eligibility criteria should apply for the scholarship program. Any candidate who fails to fulfill even one of the requirements, will not be considered for the award.


Application Process

The application process for Deakin Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship is quite simple. All you have to do is complete a scholarship application form and submit the required supporting documents.

Part II: Supporting Documentation

  • Two LOR (detailing about applicant’s community engagement and/or leadership capacity)
  • Application form submitted for admission at Deakin University
  • Academic Transcripts
  • Personal Statement in 300 words:
    • Brief of extracurricular activities and work experience.
    • State why an applicant would make an outstanding ambassador for Deakin University
    • Any other information that can help in boosting the chances of selection

Selection Process

Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is limited in number, therefore, applying at the earliest is a possible way of increasing chances. The factors taken into consideration while selecting the recipients are:

  • Academic merit
  • Personal statement

The selection process may also include an applicant’s interview. After the selection, recipients will be notified within six weeks of applying.  Also, unsuccessful applicants of the Deakin Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship will automatically be considered for the Deakin International Scholarship.


Grant Details

Deakin Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship is presented to international students who want to pursue higher education at Deakin University. Recipients of the scholarship will receive:

  • The scholarship offers a 100% or 50% reduction in tuition fees.
  • Participation in the Vice-Chancellor's Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP).
  • Scholars will get a priority place for on-campus accommodation (at own cost and subject to availability).
