We train our students in applying state-of-the-art research techniques to address research questions that advance contemporaneous accounting research. Our faculty are at the forefront of their research area and work closely together with their students. Learn to conduct independent research at the frontier of the field
The? from??provides a two-year coursework program designed to equip students with all the skills needed to conduct independent research at the frontier of the field.
- Grounded strongly in economics and quantitative methods, our faculty encourages students to explore creative, new ideas in a rigorous way.
- We prefer students to?extend the boundaries of the field?by incorporating insights from adjacent areas such as finance, management, linguistics, and the behavioral sciences rather than making incremental technical improvements.
The program is structured in two phases: a two-year Research Master (RM) and a three- to four-year PhD phase
Career prospects Research Master in Business: Accounting track
If you follow the Research Master's program in Business - be it accounting, finance, marketing, operations research, organization and strategy, or tax economics - you are prepared to continue in a PhD program.
- More than 75% of the graduates continue at a PhD position at either Tilburg University or another university.
- 25% of the graduates start a professional career, mostly in the consultancy or financial sector.
The Research Master's program in Business in combination with the subsequent PhD studies enable our students to find jobs at universities around the world, at research institutes or in the banking and consultancy sectors.
In the PhD phase, most accepted PhD students become university employees earning a gross salary over more than Euro 85000 over three years and are granted pension rights.
