Course Curriculum

  • The Course was designed with a combination of Video classes and group discussion, which I feel made the course easy for most of us.
  • An attention to every individual and a small group of students every year allowed the faculty to focus on everyone. The only negative is the inability to choose the subcategory of projects where you want to work; it is a negative if you especially know which aspect of cancer research you have interest in.
  • Our classes were spread apart: 2 classes a day at 9am and around 3pm and three days of theory classes and the rest were reserved for laboratory practices.
  • Our Program had an average of 10 members per intake and it is maintained as standard class strength in the program (an attractive feature of this program at NUIG)
  • I was the only Indian student in my programme. Another US indian was there but she never lived in India.

Fees

  • I paid a total of 20750 euros for one year of the course. This does not include hostel fees.
  • On-campus hostels were around 700-1100 Euros depending on the room and sharing basis you opted for.
  • The fees are charged as per programme; for my programme, the fees were to be paid upfront. However, my friends in biomedical have also had the chance to do Semester wise payments.
  • Very conservatively, if you manage your expenses, you can do very well, easily 300-500 Euros a month and It can go to about 700-1000 euros if you want a bit of a lavish lifestyle. The rent I paid for 1 room in a 5-bedroom independent house within walkable distance from the university was 450 euros a month, plus electricity and heating oil (for house heating). I used to move around the city on a Bicycle or by walking, as everything I required was within walking distance. Groceries were about 100-200 euros with Indian food store purchases.

  • My course was more theoretical with lots of group assignments. The difficulty level was moderate but one needs to read a lot to be able to complete the assignments properly.
  • I think the course would have been better if we had gotten more chances to discuss and make PPTs and present them. Make real-time strategies and pitch them. The good thing about the course was we had got a fair understanding of a lot of management-related subjects in just one year.
  • The classes were held 3-4 days a week. Most of the time, there were two classes in a day which were of average duration 2 hours. Classes can happen anytime: mornings, noon, afternoons, or evenings. I had 35 students in our class, out of which 15 were from India.

Fees

  • I was in session 2021-22 and my tuition fee was 18,000 Euros in total which was paid in two parts. Half was paid to register for a seat in college, as it is required to get a visa. Another half installment was to be paid within 3 months after the start of the session.
  • Other than tuition fees, there was an expenditure of around 1000 Euros per month for accommodation, food and other utilities. Of this 1000 euros, around 500-700 euros might go to rent, 200 euros in food and 100 euros to any other expense.

The Curriculum for my course was very wide, we got to learn about the research side of things to the industrial side of things. Major learning takes place in the final project as we have to construct our thesis over the whole course duration, many students also work in the same field as their final project's field. As for industrial exposure, we visited a wind farm that demonstrated wind turbines from a closer perspective.

17,750 Euros is the program fee.

The course structure is well organized. If you have prior experience in the field of programming, analytics, and databases then the course would be easy. The curriculum is drafted for keeping in mind for beginners.

The course curriculum designed very well. The primary focused on practical skills. They conduct lots of workshops and invite guest lecturers from industries to share their experience and knowledge. The course contains 12modules and every module plays an important role in professional growth. There is a field trip in our course where they take students to the industry for real exposure. There are various things in our course like Digital Debate, Assignments, and Practical projects that provide us ready for real-world experience.

I came across Ireland because of English speaking nation that provide advantage of courses being offered in English. The cost of education is lower for Indian students in Ireland than many other international destinations, another advantage is that we can choose to stay back for two years after completing the course. The course duration for masters is also one year. NUIG serve as a perfect platform for me to gain skills and develop my personality for various reasons like repute of the institution, up-to-date curriculum, global exposure, diversified peer group, learned faculty, good infrastructure and resources, accomplished alumni record and career opportunities. NUIG also ranked 238th in the world’s top 1,000 institutions.
