What Students Say
Likes
- I like the campuses and libraries. As students we have full access to them and they are great study spaces.
Dislikes
- It is tough to get an appointment for the career counseling or CV viewing.
Course Curriculum
- Depending on the courses you take, they are very relevant to the field. (Core and practical)
- There are mandatory seminars in some subjects that get you very in touch with the current industry level.
- It depends on how many and which courses you have taken. The busiest week for me had 3 lectures in a day at max.
Admission Experience
- I chose the university because it is one of the top universities and has high-quality education. The country also has great student life, plus the future for further studies is better here. I chose the program because I loved the subject, and the university offers a great hands-on experience.
- The admission process includes filling out the application on the university admissions website. It is the central website for Sweden. Filling out the motivation form and SOP. Once you get your acceptance letter, you complete the fee transaction for the first semester.
- I had a CGPA of 8.7 (computer science) and IELTS band 8.0.
- Having relevant experience or education is really important because they have prerequisites that are different for each program.
Faculty
- Many of the TAs are PhD students, and they are very approachable. The faculty are very impressionable, and they guide the students in the friendliest way possible.
- I would Prof. Ekta Vats, Prof. Salmaan Toor, Prof. Mikael Laaksoharju, TA Alessio Gelato, TA Inga Wolhert, etc
Campus Life
- I am not sure about the exact numbers. But the whole city is covered with UU campuses. There are really awesome public libraries as well. There is also the Campus 1477 gym, which has sports facilities. Of course, it isn't the only one. You can find sports facilities with student discounts all around.
Part Time Jobs
- Delivery jobs pay around 150-200 SEK/hr. Nations can pay 45 SEK/hr. You usually sign up in nations, and for other jobs, you reach out to the hiring people.
- You can do almost a full-time role while studying. It isn't that tough, but it's still pretty competitive. A lot of my peers have received the opportunity to be a TA.
Placement
- I don't know about the percentage
- Around 10k-30k sek, depending on the full-time role they choose. Through connects and job portals.
Accommodation
- I found my housing through the student housing facility of UU for foreign students. My monthly rent is 5250/- SEK. Electricity, Water, WiFi included. I have a bedroom and a washroom, and a shared kitchen. There is also a shared washing area for clothes.
Exams
- Exams: IELTS. GRE (can give you a better look, but it isn't necessary)
- Documents: SOP, LORs, CV, Transcripts, Degree certificate, Identification proof, Course descriptions (if applicable)
Fees
- 72500 * 4 SEK/semester.
