- Afforadable education and highly skilled engineering practices. Hands on experience on labaratory practices which are essential to develop skillset for later career course in Germany
- Very good facilities for students and accessibility of information regarding the course. Welcome events planned for the new students are very good and also the language courses offered by the uni.
Dislikes
- Program can be a bit more efficiently planned for quicker completion. The course research modules take a bit longer times for completion as it is more suited for research and not for a strict timeline.
Very challenging yet a good experience as a masters student in Germany. Had the opporutnity to enjoy the academic life alongside wonderful travel desitinations which can be the perfect getaway from studies when needed. Overall it is all about managing your time and putting efforts in the right place.
Course Curriculum
Yes. My course was indepth into research modules, whereI can work on different chairs within the uni to get high exposure to research and career suited for Phd. However it is very tough and challenging as it takes around 3 years to complete the course.
Exams
My scores were TOEFL-IBT 100/120, GERMAN A1 - passed under affiliation from Uni Bayreuth language course, free of charge.Many university offer such courses for enrolled/prospective students even before you get a VISA and come to Germany.. LOR from employer for workexperience and responsibilities handled Interview round: Yes, I had one round of interview after application with the two Professors to evaluate my skills in field of biology and materials science
Placement
Lot of opportunites in research field and opprotunity to further continue academic phd. One can also attend Career days offered by univeristy to gain more knowledge
Internship
Yes master thesis in cooperation with Fraunhofer HTL. You can look at companys website, look for relevant topics suited to your study and apply for it.There will be an interview in person and then the offer can be given to students.
Fees
No student fees for the course. Only semester fee of 120 euros per semester for the contribution to university.
Scholarship
International scholarship after coming to Germany and studying in Uni bayreuth. 300 euros per month for 1 semester after submitting my scores for 1st semester.
Faculty
Very supportive and knowledgable. Courses were neatly stuctured and demanding. Anything related to the course, the course moderators were accesssible and offered guidance.
Campus Life
Library is outstanding is open mostly till 12am in midnight. The campus is a new one with all facilities for students and importantly affordable food from mensa/canteen. Students can also take subscription for sports and gym. Yes, WIFI is available throughout university.
Hostel
You can take shared dorm rooms or a studio dorm rooms offered by studentenwerk. All details can be viewed on the uni bayreuth website. Average rent is between 300-400 euros rightnow. Private accomodations are also good and listed again in the university website. It is always better to apply for dorms atleast 3 months before you are here, so that you get it conveniently.
