- The course was exactly what I was looking for + the course was in English + there was no tuition fee.
- The staff was accomodating and very helpful in answering any questions that the students had. The curriculum was as was mentioned on the website and the university also had some scholarship options.
- It also has many social events for students to bond and live the social life. The university also arranges many job fairs which is very helpful and each department in the university has some contacts with other universities and companies, so placement is possible but it's very competitive.
Dislikes
- Nothing. There's really nothing bad about the university. There was no tuition fee, only a small semester fee but some courses could have a tuition fee. However, now, the German government is mandating a fee for around 3k-6k for every course in every uni. So, it is 1 negative point now.
Overview
Quite good. It was nice in the sense that the education system was quite extensive and the staff was very cooperative. There was also the option of finishing your studies within 5 semesters and with Corona, they extended it to 6 semesters. The halls where the classes were conducted were also well equipped.
Scholarship
Yes. I received a 1 time grant of €1200 based on my performance.

- I chose it because of the exposure I get here. I can do my internships and masters thesis anywhere in the world which will help in future steps towards my career in research. I could work in TUM also and now I'm working in the leading cancer research institute of Germany DKFZ.
- Flexible course building and research network which leads to better internship opportunities and exposure. The Martinsried campus has Max Planck institutes, Helmholtz and other industrial workplaces like LZB that makes it easy to manage classes with internships.
Dislikes
- Course allocation system is not student friendly. We have to fill in course preferences ayt beginning of semester and on a specific date courses are alloted to students by random system (probably). This way a lot of students end up not getting desired courses in the semester they want or never and end up not being able to finish their Masters in time.
Overview
It has been great. I got to learn a lot and the highlight was different research experiences I had in different institutes and fields.
Likes
- It is on of the best universities in the world for Data Science.
Overview
Overall it is a nice experience. Obviously getting acquainted with the new life style and teaching is challenging and will initially be difficult, but it gets better with time. Attending lectures in the University instead of sitting at home and watching them online definitely helps.
Overview
Choosing LMU Munich was a no brainer. Its one of the best university in Germany and Europe. The research makes the backbone and it's worth it.
Scholarship
No.
