EMLYON Business School Scholarships for UG Students
Indian undergraduates applying to the Global BBA at EMLYON Business School have three funding routes. The Global BBA tuition is €15,100 in Year 1 (INR 16.63 Lakhs), €15,600 in Year 2, and €16,300 in Year 3. Total three-year tuition is €47,000 (INR 51.76 Lakhs) before any scholarship.
| Scholarship | Amount | Eligibility for Indians | Deadline (2027 intake) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Early Bird Discount | 10% Year 1 tuition (INR 1.66 Lakhs saved) | Admitted in the first application session, opening November | Tentative November 30, 2026 (Session 1 close) |
| EXPLO’RA SUP Mobility Scholarship | Grant covers international mobility costs | Enrolled BBA students on 4+ week internships or 8+ week exchanges abroad | Rolling; apply 3 months before mobility |
| State Scholarships (via home country) | Varies; India route is France Excellence Charpak Bachelor’s | Indian passport holders admitted to the Global BBA | Tentative January 15, 2027 (Charpak annual cycle) |
EMLYON scholarships at UG level do not layer, so applicants pick the highest single waiver. Most Indian Global BBA candidates combine the 10% Early Bird with the €700/month Charpak Bachelor’s stipend for the biggest net benefit. Applications open November 2026 for September 2027 entry.

EMLYON Business School Scholarships for PG / Master’s Students
Postgraduate applicants at EMLYON Business School access the widest scholarship pool. Awards differ by program, with the Master in Management (MiM) Grande Ecole giving the highest single waiver at 60%. International MBA candidates can trim €14,850 (INR 16.35 Lakhs) via the Excellence Scholarship alone.
| Scholarship | Program | Amount | Eligibility | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Individual Scholarship | MiM Grande Ecole | Up to 60% tuition (INR 14.54 Lakhs saved) | Academic strength, motivation, diversity; short form with admission file | Submit with application; tentative June 15, 2027 |
| Excellence Scholarship | MiM Grande Ecole | 10% (GMAT 700+) or 5% (GMAT 650+) on Year 1 tuition | Verified GMAT, GRE equivalent, or TAGE MAGE 400+; excludes online test takers | Within admission acceptance window |
| Early Bird Scholarship | MiM Grande Ecole | 10% (Session 1) or 5% (Session 2) | Apply during first admission window | Tentative December 15, 2026 (Session 1) |
| Excellence Scholarship | International MBA | 30% tuition (INR 16.35 Lakhs saved) | GMAT Focus 595+ or equivalent; automatic at admission | Applies on admission |
| Early Bird Scholarship | International MBA | 20% tuition (INR 10.90 Lakhs saved) | Enroll before the third Monday of January | Tentative January 18, 2027 for September 2027 intake |
| Individual Scholarship | International MBA | Up to 30% tuition | Social diversity, background, academic profile | Submit alongside application |
| Individual Scholarship | MSc programs | Up to 50% tuition (INR 15.83 Lakhs on a €28,750 MSc) | All admitted candidates; academic and motivational review | Submit with application |
| Dean’s Choice Scholarship | MSc programs | Up to 35% tuition | Outstanding academics, leadership impact; picked by program director | Non-competitive; decided at admissions review |
Reddit Insight: Indian MiM applicants report that a GMAT of 720+ combined with a first-session application typically triggers the 60% Individual Scholarship, not the 10% Excellence award. Since EMLYON waivers are not stackable, the Individual route saves nearly INR 14.5 Lakhs a year against a plain admission.
The International MBA tuition of €49,500 (INR 54.51 Lakhs) drops to €34,650 (INR 38.16 Lakhs) after the 30% Excellence waiver. Add the €120 (INR 13,214) application fee and the €1,500 overhead that no waiver covers. MSc tuition sits between €19,000 and €39,800 by specialization; the Individual and Dean’s Choice awards do not combine.

India-Specific Scholarships at EMLYON Business School
EMLYON Business School does not run India-only institutional funds. Indian applicants rely on the France Excellence Charpak programme managed by Campus France and the French Embassy in New Delhi. Charpak pairs cleanly with EMLYON’s Individual or Excellence waivers for a near-full-cost solution.
| Scholarship | Amount | Eligibility for Indians | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|
| France Excellence Charpak Master’s | €860/month (INR 94,703/month) plus visa waiver and insurance | Indian citizen or OCI holder, under 30 years, admitted to a full-time Master’s | Tentative January 15, 2027 for September 2027 intake (annual cycle) |
| France Excellence Charpak Bachelor’s | €700/month (INR 77,084/month) plus benefits | Indian citizen admitted to Global BBA | Tentative January 15, 2027 |
| France Excellence Charpak Summer Training | €700/month for up to 2 months | Indian students on short exchange or research internship at EMLYON | Rolling; tentative March 31, 2027 |
Charpak layers on top of tuition waivers through the following benefits.
- Student visa fee exemption via Campus France India
- Full French social security cover plus top-up health insurance
- Priority CROUS housing across Lyon student residences
- €1 meal subsidies at university restaurants (CROUS)
Charpak does not cover flights or tuition. Pair the €860 monthly stipend with EMLYON’s 60% Individual waiver on MiM to bring net first-year outflow below INR 15 Lakhs including living costs. File both after the EMLYON offer arrives, but before the mid-January Charpak cutoff.
EMLYON Business School PhD Scholarships
EMLYON Business School runs a doctoral programme funded through research contracts and the France Excellence Eiffel scheme. Doctoral candidates receive a monthly stipend rather than a tuition waiver in most cases. Selection is competitive and needs nomination by the doctoral school.
| Scholarship | Amount | Eligibility for Indians | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|
| France Excellence Eiffel PhD | €1,700/month (INR 1.87 Lakhs) plus travel and insurance | Under 35 years, admitted to a French PhD, nominated by EMLYON | Tentative January 12, 2027 for October 2027 intake |
| EMLYON Doctoral Contract | Full stipend covering tuition, negotiated per project | Admitted PhD candidates with a matched supervisor and funded topic | Rolling with PhD admission |
| ANR-linked Research Grants | €1,700 to €2,100/month (INR 1.87 to 2.31 Lakhs) | Candidates on French national research projects at EMLYON | Project-based; ongoing |
Eiffel PhD funding runs for up to 36 months and includes housing help plus one round-trip flight. EMLYON’s doctoral school nominates candidates by mid-January every year. Indian PhD applicants should secure supervisor commitment before the nomination window opens.
External Government Scholarships
Beyond Charpak, Indian students at EMLYON Business School can apply for European Union and French government funds. Erasmus Mundus is the biggest external stack option, offering full tuition plus a monthly allowance for select joint Master’s. CROUS need waivers are limited to French residents, so first-year Indian applicants rarely qualify.
| Scholarship | Amount | Eligibility for Indians | Deadline |
|---|---|---|---|
| France Excellence Eiffel Master | €1,181/month (INR 1.30 Lakhs) plus travel, housing, insurance | Under 30 years, admitted to a Master’s at EMLYON, nominated by the school | Tentative January 12, 2027 (annual cycle) |
| Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s | Full tuition waiver plus €1,400/month allowance and travel grant | Admitted to an EMJM programme with EMLYON as consortium partner | Tentative February 28, 2027 |
| Erasmus+ Mobility Grant | €350 to €550/month during EU exchange | EMLYON students on approved European mobility semesters | Rolling per semester |
| Prodigy Finance Loan | Up to full tuition, no cosigner or collateral | Non-French Master’s admits with a confirmed EMLYON admission letter | Rolling; disburse 30 days before payment |
Reddit Insight: Past recipients report that Charpak and Eiffel are handled as separate nomination tracks; EMLYON applicants who file for both often only receive one award. The Charpak calendar closes earlier than Eiffel, so submit Charpak first and treat Eiffel as backup.
None of these external awards stack with EMLYON’s Individual Scholarship above a total 60% tuition cap. Applicants should model a Charpak plus Individual combo against an Eiffel plus Excellence combo and pick the higher net INR value.
EMLYON Business School Scholarships: Frequently Asked Questions
Ques. What is the maximum scholarship stack an Indian student can get at EMLYON Business School?
Ans. The maximum practical stack for an Indian MiM candidate is 60% via the EMLYON Individual Scholarship plus the €860/month Charpak stipend. That brings first-year tuition down to €8,800 (INR 9.69 Lakhs) plus €10,320 (INR 11.36 Lakhs) in living support. Internal EMLYON waivers are not cumulative with each other, so pick the highest single institutional award first.
Ques. When should Indian applicants apply for EMLYON Business School scholarships to maximize chances?
Ans. Apply in the first admission session, tentative December 15, 2026 for September 2027 intake. Early Bird bonuses are largest in Session 1 and shrink by half in Session 2. Charpak nominations close mid-January, so a pre-December EMLYON admit strengthens the India-side scholarship file.
Ques. Do you apply for scholarships separately or with admission at EMLYON Business School?
Ans. Most awards are decided along with the admission file at EMLYON Business School. Excellence, Dean’s Choice, and Early Bird decisions are automatic when the profile matches. The Individual Scholarship needs a short motivation form attached to the application; Charpak and Eiffel need separate submissions after the EMLYON offer.
Ques. What GMAT score does an Indian student need for the EMLYON Excellence Scholarship?
Ans. For the International MBA and MSc programs, a GMAT Focus score of 595 or above qualifies for a 30% Excellence Scholarship. For the MiM Grande Ecole, the ladder is 5% at GMAT 650 (GMAT Focus 595) and 10% at GMAT 700 (GMAT Focus 645). TAGE MAGE at 400 or above is an accepted alternative for MiM applicants.
Ques. How does the France Excellence Charpak Master’s Scholarship work for EMLYON Business School students?
Ans. Charpak Master’s gives Indian nationals under 30 years a €860 monthly living allowance for 12 to 24 months of study in France. It also waives student visa fees, adds full French social security cover, and grants priority CROUS housing. Applicants first secure an EMLYON admission letter and then submit through scholarship.institutfrancaisindia.in by mid-January.
Ques. Does the EMLYON Business School scholarship cover rent and daily living costs in Lyon?
Ans. EMLYON institutional scholarships cover tuition only, not rent or daily costs. Lyon student rent averages €500 to €700 per month (INR 55,060 to INR 77,084). The €860 Charpak stipend covers monthly rent; Eiffel at €1,181/month covers rent and food comfortably in Lyon.

- The diversity- I had people from different countries and different backgrounds which helped me have a global exposure and learn about many cultures.
- Social & Sports- The college has several clubs for social & sports activities which helps students to indulge in extra curricular activities apart from studies.
- Scholarships- The college provided necessary scholarships to students who are eligible based upon their previous academic excellence and experience.
Dislikes
- The structure of the classes and timings is odd. On certain days we have classes till 7:15 PM and on other days we only have classes till 1 PM.
- No parking facilities for the students.
- While the college provides sports classes across various different sports , it doesn't have a arena inside the campus , but only has arenas id different locations in the city.
Scholarship
- I received an academic scholarship of 15% which was based on my previous academic excellence and work experience.
- I got a scholarship of around 4200 euros from my 27900 euros fees.
- My classmates received similar scholarships based on their work experience and their motivation letter.
- One of my classmates even got a 35% scholarship which was awarded to her based on her previous profile in terms of academics and work experience.
- People can also expect good scholarships if they apply early and get early bird scholarships and also get scholarships by having good GMAT or GRE scores.
- My college helped me find student accommodation at a cheaper price. There are also several other platforms like studapart to get affordable accommodations.
- My monthly rent is 424 euros and i also got a student subsidy from the french government which brought my rent down to 245 euros after a couple months. I had a private studio apartment which was fully furnished with a heater and induction stove , mattress and a study table along with a fridge. It also has a private bathroom.
- Finding an accommodation is not really a challenge in France, You can get a suitable accommodation based on your budget within 1 to 2 months before you start your course.
- My recommendations for students looking for accommodation is that start your search and secure a place before you leave India and seek assistance from your college and apply for CROUS residences and it's from the government and you can get it for cheaper.
- My place is 4 KMS from the campus and Indian students mostly get a private studio from CROUS since it's more effective in terms of price and facilities.
