- In the Fine Arts program, the student will develop a broad skill set that will help the student succeed in a wide variety of careers. Whether the students plan to begin professional practice, work as a curator in an art gallery or go on to further their education in a professional program or graduate school, they will be well prepared.
- Nipissing’s introductory courses are designed to give students a range of experiences and breadth of knowledge in studio-based practices and art history. First-year students are encouraged to take additional discipline-specific courses at the second year level in painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, and video and time-based media in their first year of study.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Official transcripts from all institutions (domestic or international) previously or presently attended, secondary schools, colleges, and universities (Domestic and international applicants who have attended postsecondary institutions outside of North America must have their transcripts assessed (Credential Evaluation Report, including a Course-By-Course Analysis) by World Education Services.
- Completion of an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with a minimum score of 5 or better in HL or SL English A: Literature or HL or SL English A: Language and Literature.
- Graduate from a regionally accredited US secondary school and achieve a minimum score of 4 or better in Advanced Placement (AP) English Language & Composition or English Literature & Composition.
- Achieve a minimum grade of B in GCSE, IGCSE, or GCE Ordinary Level English Literature or English Language, a minimum grade of C in GCE A Level or AS Level or AICE or CAPE English or English Language, or a minimum score of M3 in Cambridge Pre-U English.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Achieve a minimum score of 75% or better in the All India Senior Secondary School Certificate (ISSC) Core or Functional English or the Indian School Certificate (ISC) English, issued by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
