What students say about Concordia University

Likes

  • Engineering is very good at Concordia because they have recently invested a lot of money in the faculty.
  • Although I do know that this is offered and there is a website with all the available opportunities.
  • Concordia organizes a lot of virtual fairs and career fairs. The internship opportunities are also very good, and you will have co-op opportunities as well.
  • Infrastructure is probably the best among all universities because its in the heart of downtown Montreal, with everything nearby.
  • It is more suitable since you dont have time and food restrictions; additionally, the cost for off-campus housing is cheaper than living on-campus.
  • The fees for the whole program are near to 33,465 CAD, in addition to 10,000 CAD GIC, which every student needs to submit.
  • The faculty is experienced and helps every student with the steps they feel stuck at.
  • Concordia University is one of the best, and I must say, one of the toughest as well, in regards to computer science.

Dislikes:

  • The course is not highly competitive, The crowd is not so smart .

I chose this university bcz of following factors: Canada - Safe and developed country Concordia- Few options for Industrial Engineering in Canada and among all those options this is the best one considering the city, fees, and opportunities. Overall, I had a great experience.

Dislikes:

  • I dislike how few professors are very biased and unprofessional. null

I chose Canada mainly due to its lenient Immigration policy and I specifically chose Montreal due to its diversity and rich culture. Concordia is one of the best Universities in Montreal overall. The Campus is rich in infrastructure and is very accessible as it is located in Downtown. You have a lot of opportunities but only if you are looking for them. The city is moderate in its cost of living and Part-Time Employment opportunities.

Dislikes:

  • Career placements (non co-op): Very little help offered by university. Extended Credit program: 30 extra credits that all out of province students need which are all general course (pre college level or introductory level) which have no importance. Some teachers are also pretty bad. null

I would describe my overall experience as satisfying. Its not the best university out there, but with the right amount of effort you can place yourself in the same pool like the graduates of major universities. Definitely one of the better universities in Canada.

I received a good scholarship and offer from my current professor. Generally, I'm satisfied with my master's program and I also I am happy with the current research project that I'm working on.

Accommodation facility is good in Montreal. Rents are bit high in Downtown Montréal if compared to living far away. But, It would be okay if your share the apartments with 2-3 people. Monthly rent is around $1500 CAD for 3 1/2 apartments in Downtown Montréal and this is for unfurnished apartments.

I'd prefer renting a place with my friends than student accommodation facility.

I live by myself in a studio apartment just steps away from the university. I pay $1000 including everything (Heat, hot water, electricity, WiFi). My apartment is small but sufficient for a single person, and I have every appliance including a dishwasher and a washer dryer in my unit. The apartment came furnished, and there are street parking options available.

University provides its accommodation but that is a bit expensive. Students generally live off campus.

Onsite rooms, I guess were only available for undergrad. So I never opted for any on-campus housing. But near the university the housing was cheap and affordable with all options being available. Landlords were adjusting as they opened their homes to internal students
