- The Diploma in Computer Engineering Technology at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is offered as 3 years program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
- In this program, students get an exceptional hands-on learning experience during 5 semesters of classroom study and 3 cooperative Education work terms.
- Saskatchewan Polytechnic is unique in the emphasis on both hardware and software.
- Students will learn to install, configure, and maintain workstations and servers in various operating system environments.
- A capstone research project gives students an opportunity to apply what they’ve learned to the development of an original design, from concept through to prototype.
- Co-operative work terms are paid, so students will earn while they learn.
- University accepts 40 students each year in this program.
- Class hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily. On average students are expected to complete 20 hours of homework each week outside class time.
- Saskatchewan Polytechnic arranges student interviews. It also gives a chance to develop important “soft skills” in job interviewing, professional attitude, interpersonal communication, and more.
- The co-op employers require both a valid Saskatchewan Driver's Licence and a clean Driver's Abstract.
