I chose this college as it has a good name and power, and Centennial is one of the first community colleges in Ontario.

Course Curriculum

7

I would say my syllabus was pretty much the same as compared to other colleges for similar course. I would suggest any student taking this course to know basic object oriented programming language, so it wont be that overwhelming.

Faculty

7

In a class of 30 students there, they provide one faculty. Most of the faculty is good, but as mentioned in my above response it depends on the student and how much they can take out of it. Yuvraj sambandhan and Piyush Sheli were the best professors I got. I am still in touch with them.

Campus Life

8

It has various clubs for almost all ethnical groups/ countries. It has wi-fi, free sports activities, a cafeteria etc

Placement

7

If students take a Co-op course and fulfil all the basic criteria, then they are allowed to enter in co-op stream. Even if the student is in a co-op stream it does not guarantee them placement/co-op. I would say for my course it is VERY competitive. I first was rejected from the Co-op stream even if I fulfilled all the basic requirements because other students had much better GPAs than mine. I got selected for the second time when my GPA was 4.1/4.5. Note that it is better to have at least GPA above 4 out of 4.5 in order to secure a place in co-op. Summer placements were very competitive: I applied for around 30 jobs and that's when I heard back from 1. It might be different for other students. Co-op success ratio according to me was pretty good as compared to other college/universities, but I would say it was very competitive so one needs to be best in all the ways. I don't have exact figure of number of students placed. The salary one gets is above minimum wage of Ontario.

Accommodation

Off Campus

The accommodation facility here is not so good. I pay 700$ per month for a personal room and still, the atmosphere in my house is horrible. I changed my accommodations around 5 times within these 1.5 years but still did not find any good ones in terms of people. Still struggling for a good accommodation, where there is a healthy atmosphere. NOTE: I WON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO COME TO CANADA IF THEY CAN OR THEY EARN AT LEAST 15,000 TO 20,000 RUPEES/MONTH. Here is impossible to save money even if one has good package. I would suggest any international not to come here as the situation is very bad in terms of job market and inflation is very high. Even I am planning to come back India after I finish my studies and cover all the hard earned money that my parents spent. It would be a big mistake to come here, trust me India is best in terms of everything.

Exams

- When I arrived it had the below acceptance criteria, it might be different now: IELTS score: > 6 bands, HSC grade: > 70% These two were the basic requirements for me as I just passed my 12th grade and did not have any college GPA to show. They did not ask any GRE / SAT. - 10th Grade: 76.55% , 12th Grade: 70.53% - Requirements: I just submitted the SOP and they did not ask for my resume or additional documents. Before 1.5 years things were much better.

Fees

10,800$ per semester
