My course is quite demanding in Australia and have great opportunities to look forward to after I graduate. I chose my university because they were providing the highest percentage of scholarships than any universities in Melbourne at that time. The place is quite convenient through public transport and near city. They have also a lot of opportunities for industry experiences and clubs to join. Other than studying, my university has fun and lovely lifestyle. It is quite great overall. Although, we do not get paid for our placements but we can count it as a work experience and add on our CV. We have hybrid classes system but I prefer more face to face classes. We have 7 weeks of classes then we go to placements and come to university for just last two weeks for face to face classes. I do not like that. Other than that, their facilities are quite great and they have lots of events and festivals to join in and make lots of friends. I have quite a good experience so far with study and making friends and also getting help for jobs.

Course Curriculum

8

My course curriculum is updated and it gets updated frequently every year. As an education course the curriculum changes everyday and the department seems to add some new points so my course material also abide by those curriculums and frameworks and whenever it gets updated we start to follow the new curriculum and as it is always quite similar to the curriculum we do not seem to have confusion following these. We are always exposed to industrial experience from our University. As for my course I have 5 placements in 4 year course. It is quite convenient and work related.

Exams

- My scores: IELTS: 7, Reading: 6.5, Listening: 8.5, Speaking: 6.5, Writing: 6. Class minimum score: IELTS: 6.5, no band less than 6 - I had one interview about some basic knowledge about my course and Australia. My knowledge about work life in here and types of work. I also answered some comparative questions such as the education system between my home country and Australia. They also asked about my local guardian and sponsor in Australia; their work and their salary. - I had to submit a SoP. I mentioned about the better education system in Australia. In addition, I provided points to describe how my course is better to study in Australia than my home country and described the scenarios with statistical calculations of demand, salary and opportunities. I also mentioned about the lifestyle of Australia and how it is convenient with work and study life balance. Moreover, I have talked about the weather and how it is convenient to live a decent life in here. - There are various types of documents required: Birth certificates, 10th and 12th certificates, police verification certificate, IELTS result, bank documents and some other certificates and it is different in every university and they also guide you through the whole process.

Placement

7

My course is quite demanding so after graduation I can start as an Early Childhood Teacher in a childcare centre or in a primary school. We can apply on seek, indeed or linkedin. The placement process is quite easy. We need to apply then we will get a call back from the place, they will do a mobile interview first, then if we get selected, they will do a face to face interview. The median salary for childcare centre is $40 to $45 per hour and primary school is $45 to $50 per hour. This salary also will start to increase by time and experience.

Internship

I did not join any other internship as my university already has the placements included in the course curriculum.

Fees

$31,340 (AUD) per year. International students may receive 20% scholarship on that.

Scholarship

I got the Student Excellence Scholarship because my double GPA is 5 and the percentage is 75% and I am carrying out that since beginning of my course. They had some requirements such as I have to maintain 70% overall result every semester. The process was simple. In my university, whoever applies they are already being considered for that specific scholarship without making another application.

Faculty

9

We have one teacher for 22 students in a class and have two classes for each unit and students around 50 to 60 for each units. The staffs and faculties are quite convenient as per my experience. I have always received help from them whenever I needed. They are quite approachable and friendly so it is easier to ease into a classroom and get connected with the teachers. My professor Maryanne has been an impressive teacher to me. I have submitted one of my assignment quite last once because my laptop broke down on the last moment. I informed her and she just accepted the fact and did not penalise me at all when I was one day late.

Campus Life

My university has lot of clubs including various cultural clubs as for diverse cultural people and they seem to manage them quite nicely. They always have various events going on in the University and they are amazing to enjoy the free food and lots of activities to try on. I am part of the music clubs and they helped me a lot in my musical journey. My university is quite influential for the research work as they are known for one of best in Melbourne for research University. We have a vast library with lots of resources combined up to three floors. Other than that, we have our online library where we can access not only our own library but a vast collections of databases for journals, news articles and literatures. We have all time Wifi facility when we are near to our university area and it has very good connection and stability. We just need to sign up for that and done. We have a basketball ground and lots of open spaces to play sports. We also have an oval nearby where we have matches of soccers and footies every now and then.

Hostel

I live in a two bedroom apartment at Melbourne Central so it is quite expensive. It is a shared apartment. I pay $1118.90 per month which is half of the rent whole apartment rent. I pay the electricity and internet bills separately which is around $120 per month. I have my private room and I share the living room and bathroom with my flatmate.
