What Students Say?

- The university campus are wide and vast unlike other campuses which creeped high. Tuition fees are comparable less without any compromise on standards.
- It's a university with exceptional facilities, I has got many campuses around Australia and we get access to all of them, 24/7. Uni offers Free breakfast and travel across campuses. Another lovable aspect is the chance to engage in a multi cultural events, organised by various uni clubs. Finding electrical faculty friendly is what we often don't get to see back at home😅. Infrastructure and amenities are cool. Uni has a dedicated portal for jobs where helpful resources on building resume and networking can be found.
Dislikes
- Majority of classes are conducted online, giving a feeling of having enrolled to an online course. Class environment can become way too casual as food and mobiles are allowed in the class. The student accommodation provided by university is way too expensive than what's usual available in the market.
I have been in the university for a year, in this span of a year, university had a significant influence on me. New friend circle introduces new habits ( good ones though) and introduces you to different culture. It had been a fun experience so far, learning other cultures, learning the Aussie way of designing network (circuits) (their standards) .
Course Curriculum
My course curriculum is good and very flexible. The teaching pace and examination timeline is decided by the respective teacher and unit coordinator. They have some discretion in the curriculum. The units I'm studying are Advanced control system, Advanced Smart grid System, Specialised software Applications and so on which are work and industry relevant. Teachers often give industrial case studies relevant to the subject.
Exams
English proficiency test is required to get an admission. The minimum requirement score varies across the tests. I have given PTE in October, 2022. Minimum requirement for admission into Autumn was around 50 back then. My Score: PTE 76/90 overall. Yes, Sop, LORs, CV and along with documents relating to previous employment, education and finances should be provided. I was not called for an interview for admission but it generally depends on the course enrolled. SOP should reflect one's passion for the course they are enrolling to. Mentioning future goals and previous experiences in relation to the course would lead to successful outcome.
Placement
Ample enough opportunities for electrical engineers in Australia. The starting salary of Ms graduate would be around 52k, (a grand a week) (also depends on the company).
Internship
I haven't yet opted for an internship yet.
Fees
17k AUD per semester excluding the health insurance and scholarship for Masters in engineering (3693).
Scholarship
Yes, the University had provided me with the scholarship of 6000 AUD per year along with the admission letter while joining. There's no separate test of merit involved in offering the scholarships.
Faculty
I'm not sure about Faculty to student ratio. Depends on number of students enrolled to that particular subject. Faculty is often very approachable during the working hours. Mr. Ranjith is an incredible professor with a passion for teaching, he taught us Personal communication systems breaking down complexity into digestible concepts.
Campus Life
Sports, cultural events has no boundaries in Western Sydney, there's always something going on in and around the campus.
Hostel
University, accommodation is bad, considering the cost. On the bright side the facilities they provide are amazing (Pools! and sports courts! ). One can decide to stay alone in an unit or can opt for room share.
