What Students Say
Likes
- It was the only university with Work integrated learning and it is the best university in Victoria.
Required Exams for Admission
The tutors are knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable. They not only lecture you on your course, but also give you time to do your own self-study. Practical study is prevalent in many RMIT courses, preparing students for their chosen careers. Extremely multicultural. It's difficult to find work there (as it is everywhere), but as I previously stated, practical placements are common at RMIT. Perfectly located in the heart of the CBD, accessible to both city dwellers and suburbanites. There are many amenities on campus, such as free breakfasts, campus festivals, and a multi-level library with stunning city views. If you live in Melbourne and want to study, I highly recommend RMIT. It will not let you down.
Course Curriculum
The batch after mine had their syllabus updated. In my last semester, I have an option to obtain Work integrated learning or Research. You need to score minimum 2.8 GP/4 to secure an interview for work integrated learning. If not you will have to choose research. I scored well and got an internship which was my main purpose to join this university.
Faculty
There are 1:23 faculty student ratio. The staffs are skilled, loving, very professional and friendly to all the students. They have always been approachable and understanding as I was a Covid batch in the beginning of my semester and the support was incredible. 2 professors who were really good in helping and guiding me through my masters were Prue and Jayani.
Campus Life
Unlike other university campuses, it is not gated or surrounded by walls - city campus life is similar to Melbourne city life. The university is easily accessible by public transportation and includes amenities such as libraries, study spaces, wi-fi, daycare, and a thriving gymnasium. To fulfil the requirements of today's university life, RMIT's facilities and buildings are constantly evolving and expanding. New award-winning buildings, such as the Swanston Academic Building and the Design Hub, and outdoor recreational spaces, such as the Alumni Courtyard and the A'Beckett Urban Square, can be found throughout campus. The most thing that student like at the RMIT is the free food event during weekdays, join a club RMIT has over 100 student clubs, societies and collectives to choose from. Clubs are a great way to meet new friends, develop new skills and connect with people who share your interests. You can even start your own club. -Activities and events RMIT Link runs regular programs and events on, and around, every campus throughout the semester. Experience Melbourne with a walking tour, see a movie between classes, discover new bands or represent RMIT at a community event. If you want to explore further afield, we do offer group trips and tours led by fully trained student volunteers to destinations such as The Great Ocean Road, Wilsons Promontory, and the Phillip Island Penguin Parade. -Sport and Fitness At the Melbourne City campus, RMIT City Fitness offers a fully-equipped gym with a range of fitness programs and activities, and at the Bundoora campus, RMIT Sports Centre has a wide range of facilities including multi-purpose courts and a fully-equipped gym.
Placement
As of placement is concerned, I had to apply by myself as no universities have a concept of college placement. Being a student of RMIT university, acted as a brand when I applied for jobs. I was able to secure a job with one month after my graduation. it also depends on how well you can sell yourself. Currently Australia is in demand for man power. Hence, a good place to work and explore your career.
Accommodation
Student Accommodation $180 to $460 per week Groceries and Eating Out $80 to $280 per week Travelling $15 to $55 per week Phone and Internet: $15 to $55 per week Entertainment $80 to $150 per week Melbourne has the second-highest average rental prices in Australia after Sydney. However, it’s still possible to find affordable student accommodation in the city, especially if you opt for a studio or shared apartment. Choosing a place where the cost of utilities is included in the rent can help reduce your overall accommodation costs.
Exams
Australia requires only IELTS/PTE- I chose IELTS and scored 7. Please write IELTS few days before you apply for the visa as the IELTS scores are valid for 3 years once you arrive to Australia. This will help when you apply for work visa and can save money from rewriting the exam for the work visa. SOP- It will include your introduction and personal background. You must mention your academic background as well as accomplishments. Discuss your personal and professional experiences. You must mention your career goals and relevant prospects. Justify your choice for a specific course, university, and country. Conclusion.
