Box Hill Institute’s Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT50422) with a patisserie focus prepares students for supervisory and management roles in cafés, hotels, and commercial kitchens. Entry requires completion of Year 11 or international equivalent, with IELTS 5.5 overall (no band below 5.0). Students who have completed Certificate III in Patisserie may receive credit towards the diploma. International applicants may undergo an interview and portfolio review. While exact acceptance and employment rates aren't officially published, comparable programs report acceptance around 80–90% and graduate employment at 77–87%. Scholarships like the Victorian TAFE Network Hospitality Scholarship may offer up to AUD 2,000 for eligible students.
Diploma of Hospitality Management – Dates
The diploma runs full-time over 52 weeks (40 weeks of study plus 12 weeks of break). Major intakes are typically available in February, May, July, and September. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and close once all seats are filled. International students are advised to apply at least 8–10 weeks before their intended intake to allow for visa processing and pre-assessment.
Diploma of Hospitality Management – Fees
