What Students Say
Likes
- I could learn with people from 33 different nationalities
- I could learn from the global stalwarts of every subject
- The group activities
Dislikes
- In fact, there wasn't anything that I disliked. It was an awesome learning experience at Hult International Business School. I owe a lot to my B-School. I could profoundly enhance my learnings and outlook
Course Curriculum
-
The course curriculum was mainly practical. We were given lots of individual and group assignments that tested our knowledge in the courses. Some of the courses had final exams as well. It was a 43 credit course.
-
In the class of 110 students, there were 16 Indian students. On any day, you would have one or two classes and the usual timings were 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Rarely we had classes from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Admission Experience
- I applied only to 4 colleges and I received a positive response from all the four colleges. I was neither rejected nor waitlisted anywhere. I received admission offers from Hult International Business School, Carey School of Business, Wharton School of Business, Stern School of Business etc. I chose Hult International Business School for the affordable fee
- The reason that I chose this was that the fee was affordable. The admission process is quite simple. Once you apply on their website, you will receive a phone call from them. They then charge $95 for the application fee. Once the application fee is paid and all the relevant educational testimonials are uploaded, an interview with the Senior Enrollment Director will be scheduled. During the interview, your fluency in English will be tested. They will also test your overall acumen and skill sets. After the interview, the result will be declared in 48 hours. GMAT, Executive Assessment and IELTS scores are accepted. However, those are not mandatory.
- I applied for the fall intake. In fact, there was no factor that influenced my decision. The process of admission barely takes a month. It was quite simple and easy. The process of admission is never a big deal at Hult. I would say that it is, indeed, the easiest. They have a full fledged admission support team operating from Dubai and London.
Faculty
- The faculty-to-student ratio was 1:55. I don't think that the ratio had any influence in the quality of education and interaction. The teaching methodology was quite practical.
- The course content was not sufficient to prepare us for securing a job. No, the faculty members seldom assist the students in finding jobs. If they did, it was quite rare. All the faculty members were highly experienced in their fields. Some were the CEOs of reputed global companies.
Campus Life
- My college has five global campuses. Those are Boston, New York, San Francisco, Dubai and London.
- The campus at Boston is the oldest and the biggest.
- There is a big library. It has a tennis and basket ball court. You could play billiards within the campus.
- The Chinese New Year, Indian festivals, African festivals were the popular events. There were no extracurricular activities for the MBA
Part Time Jobs
- Only three - four students become TAs, RAs etc. The pay range is roughly $20 per hour. There were other on-campus jobs like receptionists, jobs in the cafeteria etc. They are allowed to work for 20 hours a week. It was quite difficult to secure an on campus job. The competition was quite high. Hence, many students chose to work outside the campus to take care of their living expenses
- Most of the Indian students work in Indian restaurants and other restaurants or gas stations to manage their living expenses. Some people do some part-time jobs online. The living expenses are quite high. Hence, many students live on frugal budgets. Also, it is quite difficult to find a job after the course. Hence, students face huge debts as well.
Placement
- Only 25% of the graduating batch secures employment within 6 months of completing their course.
- The average salary range would be $50,000 - $60,000 per year. Students usually find jobs through referrals and networking. The placement experiences are not that great.
- There was no major company that hired graduates from our program. It is quite difficult to find a job in the USA
Accommodation
- I opted for campus housing because I wanted to avoid the cost of transportation. I simply approached the admissions team for my accommodation.
- The monthly rent was roughly $1900 and it included all the utilities, like, internet, electricity, water, sewage, furniture, semi-furnished kitchen etc. I strongly recommend the campus housing for the future students.
- The campus housing is right behind the campus. Most of the Indian students rent out apartments for themselves
Exams
- No exam was required for admission. In fact, Hult has a full fledged admission support system that many other colleges don't have. You don't even need an educational consultant, if you choose Hult.
- Interview is mandatory. Normally the Senior Enrollment Director conducts the interview. I believe that undergraduate degree from any recognized global university and fluency in English are the two criteria for the admission decision
Fees
- The tuition fee was $60,000 paid in three installments/two installments. If paid in one shot, a concession of $4000 was given. The hostel/campus housing fee was $23200 per year. It could also be paid in two/three installments.
- The monthly expenses would be around $800(for food, transportation etc.). However, the monthly expenses are quite subjective. Also, the hostel/campus housing was quite expensive compared to other rental apartments by at least $400.
Scholarship
- Yes, I received a scholarship of $30,000. It was under the category 'Women in Business'. Most of my classmates were the recipients of different scholarships and various other forms of financial aid.
- The extent of scholarship/financial aid was quite subjective. It was different for everyone. It was based on various criteria, like, the country, age, gender, experience etc. Typically everyone would be awarded a scholarship of $15,000 - $35000
