What Students Say?
Likes
- Because it was offering a master's course in my field of interest. Also, the state of Virginia is highly regarded as having some of the best universities in America, only second to the state of Massachusetts.
- The community of students on campus was amazing; class dynamics during lectures and in-class activities were good; sports facilities on the campus are state-of-the art and some of the best American universities. Active engagement in the course through a rigorous assignment policy helps a pupil manage time and his/her work schedule effectively.
Dislikes
- Probably the lack of recruiters on campus after the program is over. It is in downtown Richmond, so some shady people lurk in and around the campus occasionally through the night, although on-campus security is highly effective and diligent.
Overall, it was a nice experience. VCU gave me a lot of opportunities to flourish in various domains, both on and off campus. The community of students is lively, and the faculty are masters in their fields.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is good, and the curriculum pedagogy is favorable to any student envisioning studying abroad. The mode of delivery of lectures, faculties qualifications, and ample opportunities on the side at every point throughout the course will make it a wonderful experience for an aspiring student.
Exams
I went to VCU in a dual-degree program collaboration between Christ University Bengaluru and VCU. I am not sure if you have to take the GRE or IELTS to get admission to VCU. At least, I did not. Yes, I had to submit a SOP. Basically, just mention your intent for seeking admission into the course, how your previous qualifications will help you achieve the best result of the course, and what you want to get out of that course. Discuss your future goals and how you are structuring yourself to achieve them. It doesn't hurt to mention some extracurricular activities, as they showcase your well-rounded mind. Interview round: Yes, I had a general Zoom meeting with the program coordinators. Just do a background check on the program and go over the subjects that you are going to be taught if admitted to the University. Discuss your interests based on the program and what your future goals are based on the course, and don't shy away from voicing your sincere thoughts in front of the interviewer.
Placement
It is good, but with my course, they favor their own natives more. Research opportunities are limited.

Fees
Well, I studied there for nine months (two semesters of 4 months each) for a total cost of $28,250 or Rs 25,00,000.

Faculty
Well the ratio is 1:25. The qualifications of the faculty was resounding, and they have a great control over their speech while giving the lectures in class. All, the faculties in the program are apporachable on appintment basis and they will be very transparent with their availibility times through the week to make the lives of students easier.
Campus Life
Campus life is diverse, and you would have an array of opportunities to involve yourself in various activities and hubs almost every day. The infrastructure is commendable both on and off campus. There wouldn't be anything that would be hard to find, as everything is within walking distance or on the bus route. State-of-the-art gyms, various sports facilities, theatres, open grounds, parks, and on-campus services are available.
Hostel
The accommodations were very comfortable, and had state-of-the-art facilities on campus. I stayed in a two-bedroom apartment-complex dorm with all the facilities available within my dorm. Great structural integrity and a lot of breathable open space.
